Presenting Percy pencilled in for Punchy

Owner Philip Reynolds has mooted the John Durkan Chase at Punchestown.

With had only one outing over hurdles that he could just finish eighth although the eight-year-old was sent off favourite for the Gold Cup.
All those have been resolved, although Issues were then found that prevented him from running again.
Reynolds told that the Irish Field:”it is a case of so far, so good. Pat (Kelly, trainer) and Jerry Kelly (vet) are contented with him and as soon as they are glad that’ll do me.
“He had a little procedure to remove fluid out of his spine and I do not know if that had something to do with how he conducted Cheltenham. We discovered he had article Cheltenham.
“He is starting the season off just like everyone and the fact is that he may just be”a different horse”.
“This time I couldn’t lie straight in bed with enthusiasm. I believe the very best chance a horse has of winning a Gold Cup is right after their newcomer season. Today he will be meeting with all of seasons novices, along with Al Boum Photo, thus we’ll just need to see where he fits in.
“it is a little premature to say where he’ll start back. Hopefully we’ll get started before Christmas, but what has to be suitable for him.
“Clonmel will come for him, as will Royal, therefore I guess you might be looking at exactly the John Durkan in Punchestown. After that remains to be noticed, where he would go there is a good deal of water.
“I just hope we do not have yet another winter like last season – the floor was quick all winter along with a repeat would be a disaster.”
